We're enjoying more snow at the start of this season than we've seen in years. We've just purchased a bunch of new Rossignol snowboards and boots for the rental fleet. Kicked off the holiday weekend by heading over to Red River, checking out the bikes, people watching and eating at Timbers. The chicken was dry but at least the service was good. Wasn't very crowded but I'm sure that will change today. Will be going back tonight again with a for sale sign on the scoot to see if I can get some action. With more miles on the mountain bike in the past few years than the bike, it's probably best to get it gone! The ride last night was great and I will miss it but it's time. Between kayaking and biking my spare time is pretty well cooked.

The Aspens are finally blooming and the grass is starting to turn green. Strider, Daniela and I spent a bunch more time cleaning trails yesterday which we rode this morning. Elliot Barker is an incredible area that is just a blast to hike, ride, snowshoe and cross country ski. Having this incredible resource in our back yard couldn't be any better.
On a different note, I know that the forest service has to move forward with their thinning program but it's just ashame that they've ended up using "our trails" for their access. Unfortunately that's not the half of it. The folks coming in and pulling the wood out are making a terribly, negative impact on our wonderful piece of heaven. Coming in when forest ground is wet and rutting things up sure isn't helping the erosion issues. The incredible amount of trash that has been left behind is just devastating.
